While our industry is in a state of uncertainty right now, one thing seems to be true – virtual is here to stay! Even once large scale live events start to reemerge, there will likely still be a digital component to many of them for the foreseeable future. Today, a panel of event professionals will discuss how they are reimagining events in a virtual environment. From the virtual ‘venue’ itself, to the tech behind the scenes, and the planners designing innovative content that can be experienced from anywhere, we will touch on all aspects and the many virtues of going virtual.

Anna Marie Rembold, CSEP, CMP, Anna Marie Events

Anna Rembold is Founder and President of Anna Marie Events, a full-service corporate events design, planning and production agency based in San Francisco, California. Launched in 2012, Anna Marie Events has been a nationally-recognized leader delivering branded-solutions for companies seeking to deepen relationships with internal and external stakeholders, grow market share and launch new initiatives via their hosted events, both in-person and virtual. The company’s portfolio spans large-scale conferences and meetings, VIP events, executive retreats, product-launch events, executive offsites, team-building events and all-company meetings.

In 2019, Inc. Magazine named Anna Marie Events as the 403rd fastest growing privately-held company in the U.S. on its prestigious Inc 5000 List. Anna Marie Events has also been recognized as a “Top 100 Women-Owned Business” by the San Francisco Business Times and in 2018 was honored as the 4th fasted growing private company in the Bay Area.

In 2020, the agency launched AME LIVE, a virtual events platform allowing companies to create a fully-customized virtual experience and branded channel from which they can host a full continuum of online events and engage their key stakeholders, anytime, anywhere.

Prior to founding Anna Marie Events, Anna served for 5 years as Director of Administration for Liquid Realty Partners, a private equity firm with over $1B in assets under management. Anna began her career at Babcock and Brown and NBC Internet and graduated Phi Beta Kappa with a BA from Mills College.

 

Alexandra (Alex) Carvalho, CMP, Senior Events/Meeting Planner Specialist

Alex’s expertise is in experiential program design; creating memorable, immersive environments in conjunction with meetings and events. With more than 16 years in the events industry, her skillset ranges from virtual events, special events marketing, trade show management, incentives, multi-day conferences, road shows and large tech conferences.

Alex has a passion for the meetings industry which is evident in her contribution to its associations. She currently serves as Vice President of Programs PCMA Northern California Chapter, as well as on the advisory boards of the San Francisco Travel Association and the LGBT Meeting Professionals Association. She is past president of PCMA NCC and has served on numerous board positions since 2009. She has received many accolades from her peers, including PCMA NCC’s Meeting Planner of the Year in 2015 and recognition as an industry leader in Smart Meetings Magazine’s “100 Most Inspiring Women in Events” and Senior Planners Network’s (SPIN) “40 over 40 Women in Events.

An advocate for education, Alex currently serves on the advisory board for curriculum development for the Hospitality and Tourism Program at California State University East Bay. She is also a mentor for hospitality and tourism students at San Francisco State University. Alex earned her Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) accreditation in 2013 and Virtual Event Meeting Management Certification in 2020.

 

Vincent Padua, VP of Client Services, AV Images

As part of the AV Images family since 1996, Vince has grown from a Technical Coordinator to Sr. Project Manager, to now Vice President of Client Services. Vince plays an integral role in the operations and success of AV Images, training and guiding Project Managers and Show Leads, as well as managing our larger clients and more reputable productions like CiscoLIVE, Capcom Entertainment press events and product launches, Mobile World Congress, Enterprise Connect, and AAA sales and leadership conferences. Vince has worked with an extensive list of high-profile clients such as KLA-Tencor, Cisco Systems, Capcom Entertainment, AAA, Genentech, and Ubisoft and continues to add new clients and work to the AV Images portfolio.

With over 25 years of experience in audio-visual staging and production, Vince has the skills, experience, and expertise to lead and manage any event of any size. Through his abilities to communicate seamlessly with clients; lead teams effectively and efficiently; coordinate productions from beginning to end; keep projects running on time and on budget; and keeping a smile all the way through, Vince is a dependable and collaborative team player who will ensure your next production is nothing short of success.
